MHT CET

The Pathway to Engineering and Medical Colleges in Maharashtra


MHT CET is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra for admission to undergraduate programs in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.), Pharmacy, and Health Sciences in various colleges in Maharashtra. The exam is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and is one of the key exams for students aspiring to join engineering and pharmacy colleges in the state.

Duration: 3 hours
Frequency: Once a year (usually in May)

o Physics
o Chemistry
o Mathematics (for Engineering aspirants)

Exam Pattern

o Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
o The exam consists of 3 sections:
Section A Physics (50 questions)
Section B Chemistry (50 questions)
Section C Mathematics (for Engineering) or Biology (for Medical)
Mathematics: 50 questions
Biology: 50 questions
Total Questions: 150 questions (50 questions per subject)


Negative Marking

For each incorrect answer, -1 mark will be deducted.
No marks are deducted for unanswered questions

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31st of the year of examination.
Educational Qualification:

o For Engineering: Candidates must have passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks (for General category) and 45% marks (for Reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
o For Medical: Candidates must have passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks (for General category) and 40% marks (for Reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Number of Attempts: There is no limit to the number of attempts.
